Self-Care /sɛlfˈkɛː/
NOUN mass noun
The practice of taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health.
The practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.
Self-care comes in many forms. One of my favorite self-care activities is doing an at home face mask. When life starts to get hectic for me, my skin suffers. Talk about break out central. And when my face breaks out, I tend to stress even more out of frustration. Face masks have helped me keep my skin balanced and clear. When I get a breakout this mask in particular helps dry my pimples out. I tend to set the mood with a lit candle and my chill vibes playlist (found on Apple Music and Spotify) when it’s mask time. Now, a mask won’t fix all of your problems but it does give you a moment to relax and feel pampered.
What is in this mask:
-
Bentonite Clay
-
Raw Honey
-
Turmeric
-
Activated Charcol
-
Apple Cider Vinegar (to mix)
Leave on until it dries/tightens. Rinse with warm water. Follow up with your favorite toner and moisturizer. What are your go to face mask? Are you more of a store bought mask person or do you like to mix your ingredients up? Let’s chat in the comments below.
I love face masks, definitely one of my self care faves. I go with however i feel that day….Indian healing clay and ACV, one of the Freeman’s brand masks, or a moisturizing mask….
Been meaning to try tumeric for brightening!
Glad you mentioned Freeman’s. I’ll be doing a post on them a little later. I’ve been trying out the brightening mask as well as a few others. Freeman’s is so clutch. Ulta has them on sale pretty often too. Gotta love a savings.
Have you ever tried that Aztec clay mask?
Yes! It’s a staple of mine.
